We missed a turn when we were very near Desaru, about 5 km away. Having seen two way streets, rubber plantations, cars, some 1 floor buildings, we finally saw the first petronas gas station having driving for so long. But our petrol in our car is more than enough to travel to and fro, therefore, we gave a miss to that petrol staton and advanced further. Then...we FINALLY missed the first turn towards Desaru and we needed to find a U-turn. Travelling 1.5km on the wrong route, we finally found a turn. However, what shocked us is that that road has is divided by a hedge, impossible for us to turn. We travelled 250m then we found a u turn sign. Sigh....Wasted 3.5 km of petrol.......Sad Case
Before we made a wrong move, I always wonder, WHO MADE THESE ROADS? i was so proud of that. Marvellously, no trees, under the sun, hot blazing heat, making that 41km route. Pei fu....really must Pei fu! No idea also how long they take to build this "highway".... Geng4 he2 kuang4 the NS highway to KL....
Travelling does not end....We went in further, saw the sight of a fruit farm. We didn't went in. Then, we went further, saw a gate to Desaru, a fire burned a patch of trees on the right. on the left, you will see a castle like resort. You go in further, there is a hotel with security guards, crowded with singaporean cars, then a chalet, then a deserted hotel, then another hotel which we stay, then a golf club.
I WARN: " CAUTION, GOLFERS CROSSING!"
THen it is dead end. U turn and go back, choose a hotel. YOU want the cheapest????? To me, I am not quite sure.... The first hotel, the castle like hotel, we didnt went in. We checked the price for 3 hotels, the chalet, the hotel we stay, and the crowded hotel...And we found that the hotel we stay offers the best facilities. It has swimming pool, beach, restaurants, bicycle, blah blah blah, and is cheap. The crowded hotel has no rooms for us to stay, and is 2 times as expensive but more and better facilities are available. The Deserted hotel, no need to say. There is nothing over there. THE CHALET....When we went there, I saw a bunch of enthusiatic Singaporeans, from NTU, leaving in those chalets. About 50-70 of them.
YA LAH.....Let me tell you the hotel names lah.... THE CASTLE hotel, the first hotel is the Sebana Cove & Marina Resort. The second hotel is the The Pulai Desaru Beach, the more expensive one. The third resort, the chalet is the Desaru Holiday Chalet. The only chalet in the entire Desaru. Then, you will see the deserted hotel which is temperory closed, that is the LaCemara Desaru Resort Condo. Then, the hotel we stay, the Desaru Golden Beach Hotel. Finally, it is the golf club, the Desaru Golf & Country Club. Interesting huh?! These info may be wrong. If you do not trust, check it out at http://www.desaru.com.my/.
There are many other things we didnt see at Desaru, like the ostrich farm and the pony We were around the chalet the whole of 2 day 1 night, we didnt went anywhere. it was 5pm when we reached there. Tired and smelly. My family and I had a quarrel of choosing a hotel. The fully booked hotel was out of our choice and we were left to the chalet and the hotel we stayed. I lost the match by 1:3 when I chose the Chalet. Although it is $40 more expensive, quite alright rite? the Facilities are not really good, But is that a prob? Desaru is a beach. Stay in the beach can already. Anyway....When we reached there, we found out that the $40 cheaper room was booked by someone. And there is only a $40 more expensive than the chalet room. HAIX>>>>Dao3 mei2....
We arranged to put our things back into the chalet and quickly go to the beach and walked to eat dinner at a seafood restaurant in the resort. WHAT DO YOU SEE>!? The food we ordered are kuey tiao mee, kangkong belacan, kampong chicken, and chilli crab. It seems delicious, the menu has no pictures. And the prices are scary. The amount of food is even scarier. I bet those food doesnt cost so much lah. they are trying to earn more then what they earn. Only those stupid ones like us eat that restaurant. Plus, the food sold are not as delicious.
Then we went back to the room and watch the final episode of Wei4 si1 li3. The 2 finally patch up and the story was fake of course but it sounded so real. nvm....Nothing much to see that night, we continue watching until 9.30pm....then we sleep. The shower was a little spoilt in room 656, the room we stayed in. I continued to read my xi1 you2 ji4 until it was late. That night, I tried to sleep, but cannot. The cold heat and the bed made me so uncomfortable. I really missed my bed in Singapore.
The second day...I wanted to watch sunrise, but aiya, went to sleep again. Then, it was 6.50....we went to the beach, taking pictures of the sun and walk along the beach. The beach was quite nice for the small river suddenly in the middle of the beach. Some early birds also accompanyed us walk on the beach. Then, we returned back with sandy feet. The sea was a splendid scene, the best object to touch in the midddle of the morning.
Left with half a day before checkout. We ate breakfast. Tell you what about the breakfast buffet. There are flies, and the food is good but less in variety. there is roti prata, egg, nasi lemak, porridge, mi2 fen3, cornflakes, fruit juice and fruits, and dont forget toast....Quite full......then we went back to the room to take a morning shower. UNTIL 10am, I decided to cycle around the resort, and it was quite fun. Except that I hurt my thumbs and the skin peeled off. I hadnt cycle for at least 3 years....Paddling on the bicycle was quite fun....And the mosquitos keep stinging me..... Quite a sad case. The rent was an hour and I was deadly tired and sweating at the end of the cycle. You may think that it is lame to cycle alone in the resort, but it was really great fun paddling after 3 years.
Leaving the hotel at noon, we went to the souvenior shop immediately, I bought a pencil with a DESARU with a frog head. Then, we went to the fruit farm. There is nothing much there except that there is a lot of Singaporean cars....I also drank a juice I dunno what it is named. The juice can be found there at RM$2 for a medium size cup.
TIP: IF you find yourself lost on the roads, do not blame me, blame the ministry for not installing more road signs or trees that blocked the road signs.
Travelling back to the route we travelled yesterday, we went to Jusco...but changed our minds to careffour. Before we reach there, we needed to find a u-turn. It was a km away.... Then we went to smart shopping mart, which has lots of shops there. Careffour was big. AND MOST THINGS WERE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN SINGAPORE's stuff. When we went out of the shopping mart, we lost our way, almost back to where we came from. Luckily there is a Jusco shopping mart there, we went in. WHAT?! there is a need to PAY MONEY?!?!!?! We went in, collect a ticket from the counter, then find our way to the exit. It was raining heavily and all of us wanted dinner. LOL....Finally we managed to get our way out of the roads and we returned to Singapore, after dinner. What a scare that we lost our way.
Then BLAH BLAH BLAH, we went to eat the zhi bao ji restaurant, ordered a kangkong belacan, which is even cheaper and tastier. Haiz. Wasted so much money the day before. Next time da bao to Desaru and eat better.
